Outsource your social media marketing or do it yourself?

For Entrepreneur, there’s never enough time in a day.

They have limited sales staff and budget constraints. However, it is necessary for all small businesses to be on at least one of the social networks.

  • Facebook has the largest number of users – more than 1 billion active users a month – so it makes sense for businesses to start with Facebook Page. The question many small business owners are asking themselves is: Should I handle social media marketing myself or subcontract? Consider the following points to help you decide: Consider the following points to help you decide:

    • Budget: Posting on to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, etc., is free, however, if you want to run a paid advertise campaign, on some of these digital platforms, which will help you reach an extended audience beyond your social followers, you have to pay. The good news is that these social networks have self-serve advertising, and it doesn't require a marketer to do this. But to outsource to an expert like me might be a good idea, because I have necessary expertise in this area, and might be able to help you get the best value for money. It is affordable and monthly fees. So you can try without much financial risk.

    • Time: Social media posts needs nurturing. It is like watering plant. Should be done regularly. Do you genuinely have enough time to dedicate to social media on a daily basis? I mean it is a question of priority. Small-business owners should spend about an hour per day on social media, depending on how many platforms they are on. You would rather spend time on more important task such as conversion. Converting leads and enquiries to actual sale. That consultant may not be in position to do.

    • Expertise: It is not a rocket science (I do not know why everybody gives example of rocket) to handle social media marketing, but there are best practices in terms of when and what to post where.
